Begin your day at the primary residence of Cambodia's King at the Royal Palace and the Silver Pagoda. Learn about Cambodia's Khmer Rouge history at the Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum and Choeung Ek Genocidal Center. After lunch, you'll visit Wat Ounaloum and Independence Monument. You will end your day with a visit to the art deco Central Market in the city center.

En route, you'll get to see and experience how Cambodians live along this important river. Enjoy lunch onboard. You'll also glide by Tonle Sap Lake before ending your journey in Siem Reap.

You'll travel to the countryside to see the birthplace of the Khmer empire, Phnom Kulen. Atop the Phnom Kulen mountain is a 16th century Buddhist monastery, Phra Ang Tho, where King Jayavaraman II declared Khmer independence from the Java Kingdom in 802 AD. You'll also visit the River of 1000 Lingas where hundreds of lingas (carving representing the god Shiva) were carved into the sandstone riverbed.

Today, you'll visit three of the most interesting of all the temples outside the main Angkor Archaeological Park. You'll start with Boeng Mealea, a prototype for the more famous Angkor Wat yet stands almost forgotten in the jungle due to its inaccessibility until recently. You will also visit the intricately carved but well-preserved Banteay Srei and Banteay Samre temples.

After breakfast, you'll travel by tuk-tuk to an untouched village near Angkor Thom City. Visit on foot to get off the beaten track and gain insight into traditional Khmer culture. Next, head toward Angkor Thom, the once glistening capital city of the Khmer Empire, and Ta-Prohm aka the "Tomb Raider Temple". End your day at the world largest sacred building and an architectural masterpiece, Angkor Wat.

On your final day in Siem Reap, weather permitting, you will rise early to experience the most breathtaking sunrise over the horizon of Angkor Wat, with colors of the sky mirrored in the reflection pool. This is an absolute must-see bucket list item. Afterwards, you will say goodbye to Cambodia and board a flight to Luang Prabang, the old Laos capital city, for the next leg of your trip.

Rise early to experience the alms-giving ceremony, a daily dawn ritual where monks receive food offerings from locals. We'll end the day with a trek up Mount Phousi to admire the panoramic views of Luang Prabang.

Take a boat tour along the Mekong River to visit Ban Xang Hai, a unique little village on the banks of the river. You'll also visit Pak Ou Caves that houses around 4000 Buddha statues and statuettes. You'll end your day with a beautiful sunset of the Mekong River from the Wat Phra Bat Tai temple.
